Years ago while conducting an interview for a non-fiction book I was writing, I noticed a big old ‘steamer trunk’ at the home of my host.

With permission to take a peek, I carefully lifted the lid.  Tucked neatly inside the aged container was the folded front page of a newspaper from April, 1932. I picked it up and was instantly transported more than seventy years back in time.  One story in particular grabbed me:
